Presenter: Alexander Y. Mitrophanov, PhD, Senior Statistician, ABCS/FNLCR/NCI

In this talk, we will cover the basics of survival analysis as a statistical methodology developed for censored data. Special emphasis will be on visualizing survival data, comparing survival-time distributions for subject groups, and performing regression-type analysis on survival data. Attendees should have beginner to intermediate knowledge of applied statistics or biostatistics, familiarity with the basics of inferential statistics, hypothesis testing, linear regression, and logistic regression. This talk is part of a complementary demo-based coding event with the Bioinformatics Training and Education Program (BTEP) Coding Club, entitled “Survival Analysis in R Using the survival Package”. It is recommended, but not required, for attendees to attend this complementary event to learn the coding aspects of survival analysis.

This will be a hybrid event. To register, please visit the following link: https://cbiit.webex.com/weblink/register/ra8dd1081e5dc917433f8514f1f455334

This session will be recorded, and materials will be shared with attendees a few days after the event.
