Presenter: Kelly Sovacool, PhD, Bioinformatics Software Engineer, CCR Collaborative Bioinformatics Resource (CCBR).
GitHub is a powerful platform for tracking, sharing, and collaborating on software projects of all kinds. Whether you’re a bioinformatics analyst, a software engineer, or a biologist who sometimes codes, GitHub can help you and your team stay organized and work reproducibly. In this talk, we’ll cover concepts & tips for making the most of GitHub to manage bioinformatics projects, and we’ll demonstrate how we use these in practice with CCBR pipelines. Basic knowledge of git/GitHub is recommended but not required. Anyone who codes, regardless of experience level, will gain something from this talk.
